The Edge and BWIPP: Diversity in Post-Production

We are thrilled to share exciting news about our latest venture: a strategic partnership with BWIPP – Black Women In Post Production.

This collaboration is testament to our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion, resonating with BWIPP’s crucial mission of enhancing visibility and support for Black women in the post-production realm.

Through this alliance, we aim to foster skills development, networking opportunities, and career growth, underscoring our joint dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion within our industry.

A Transformative Partnership

BWIPP is now proudly positioned as one of our primary resources for recruiting freelancers and full-time staff. This collaboration not only aligns with our values but also signifies a proactive effort to drive positive change in the industry’s hiring landscape.

Founder and CEO of BWIPP, Jasmin John, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We really want to proactively change the existing hiring processes – word of mouth, networks, and nepotism – to diversify the post-production workforce, and this is an incredible step in the right direction. I hope other companies will follow suit!”

Diversifying Talent through BWIPP

Employers, recruiters, and production companies associated with us at The Edge Picture Company now have the opportunity to tap into BWIPP’s talent pool through their internal jobs board or the BWIPP diary service and talent database. This strategic move aims to broaden the scope of hiring beyond traditional methods, promoting inclusivity and giving due recognition to underrepresented talent.

Future Initiatives

In addition to serving as a valuable resource for recruitment, BWIPP, in collaboration with The Edge, will host networking events, industry masterclasses, and will soon launch a mentoring program, online training, and outreach initiatives.

These initiatives are geared towards empowering Black women in post-production and creating a more inclusive and supportive industry landscape.

We are proud to be at the forefront of this transformative partnership, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on our industry.

Together, our goal is to set new industry standards and amplify the contributions of Black women in post-production.
